As I begin my second year at PPS, I look back on the last academic year. It was a whirlwind of events, decisions, exams, educational trips, and successes. We made many changes for this academic year, including uniforms, homework and assessment policies, Ministry subjects, and digital platforms. We also developed a new Key Stage 2 Writing programme, and we improved our leadership and staffing structures.
So, when I look back at this very busy but very successful year, I’m filled with a mixture of pride at what the staff and students accomplished, and worry that we have a lot to live up to in order to achieve a similar level of excellence for our community this year. However, I am confident that we have, once again, an excellent team of professionals, clear expectations and policies, outstanding curricula and teaching standards, and the highest expectations of each other and our students.

As always, our first priority is the children’s safety and wellbeing. We care about all of our students, and we want to support them and you as families of our community. Please review the communication policy included in this handbook, and reach out if there is anything we can do to help.

Our second priority is to develop happy and successful students. We want each student to reach his or her own potential, and not compare themselves to others, but always strive for excellence, and always proud of their progress.
I am looking forward to this new academic year with you all, and hope to share many happy memories together. On behalf of myself and all of the members of staff here at PPS, we would like to welcome you back to The Phoenix Private School, and thank you in advance for all of the support you will offer us in aide of supporting your children.
